Even though I only have four issues this week it’s really rounding out into a great comics week.
WatXM’s possible/alternate future is an interesting fallout from the events of Age of Ultron (in which Logan is healing-factor-less, and thus ages at a normal rate), and it seems like it’s also in line with the alternate/possible future taking place in that Days of Future Past...
holy cats the regular show comic is so good

Random Access Memories is almost like Daft Punk got hired to write a 70’s Porn-Groove soundtrack.
i have a shit small pull this week but next week is 16 issues so I guess I make up for it.

Meghan got me a 3DS for my birthday (July 4th, but she got it already) so now I get to play Pokemon X/Y when they come out :3

Dial H
Demon Knights
Legion of Super Heroes
All cancelled from DC in August.
I really don’t like this whole +/- grading system.
I mean, it’s cool if I’m aiming for a B and I get a B+ because it’s extra points towards my GPA…
But if I’m aiming for a B and I get a B- it’s only 2.66 points so it’s basically a C++…

talkingtrades replied to your post: Cool Amazon Comic Finds
Seems like an age since the first Byrne Omnibus, so happy to finally see that.
I feel similarly. I think it was released sometime before the end of 2011 because I got it as a Christmas gift that year. It was quite an entertaining read so I’m totally looking forward to seeing the conclusion of Byrne’s legendary run. And...
Waiting hours for your professor to respond to a serious email is not something cool to do on a Sunday
Cool Amazon Comic Finds
Browsing the annals of Amazon today I ran across several interesting comics slated to ship in the near-ish future worth mentioning. Typically the stuff found that’s worth mentioning is all Marvel since DC announces the majority of their collected editions WAY ahead of time (we already know what’s coming for the rest of the year, essentially). Anyway:
Fantastic Four by John Byrne...

Univision is trying to make a spanish-language version of Breaking Bad.
If that has the high production values and the quality production staff that the original series has/has had then I would friggin love to see that.
Unfortunately they haven’t cleared it with Sony just yet, so…
RE: Community
I didn’t realize tonight’s episode was the season finale, but now that it’s here I just wanted to say a few words.
Obviously it’s very possible this is the final season. Realistically it SHOULD be the final season, as the gang is now graduating and I don’t want this to turn into some sort of Degrassi type of thing where the main cast moves on and leaves the show as a...
I don’t think enough people appreciate Marvel Studios/Disney’s wonderfully misleading marketing for Iron Man 3, which plays straight into the mislead in the film itself. If you’ve seen it you know what I mean.
I got a B+ in this writing class but I’m currently talking to the professor to see if there’s anything I can do to bump my grade up.
I also emailed another professor to see if there was any sort of extra credit for his class, because he had extra credit listed for the previous semester but not this one.
Then I emailed ANOTHER professor so I could see why I made what I did on my...

We just reported that Robert Downey Jr is in talks with Marvel to return for “The Avengers 2” and “The Avengers 3.” But the actor isn’t even discussing “Iron Man 4,” and we may now know why. Downey earned somewhere between $50 million and $80 million on “The Avengers,” and has already earned over $35 million...
i don’t feel shame in emailing all my professors and practically begging for ways to bump up my grades for the semester…
I mean… I really need the grades.

Add to list of things I want to happen:
Whenever the “Godbomb” story in Thor God of Thunder finishes I want an oversized hardcover consisting of issues #1-11 (or twelve, if that one is an aftermath to that story) so I can have the entire Gorr storyline all in one place.
I only have about a month of summer break this year, but I’m surprisingly okay with that.
It’s been a really tough semester, and I’m pretty sure I did really well, but I find that often when I come back from a long break it takes way too much for me to get back up on my feet again, so this shorter break might be just what I need to keep on track.
So yeah here’s what we’re doing.
I’ve arrange that the other people in the comics department of Population GO will join me in doing “TOP 5” posts where each of us pick and talk about our top five favorite comics starring a certain character. We missed it for Iron Man, but for Wolverine and Superman we’ll be collaborating in time for the upcoming movies.

I got some really good replies here, and one I’m definitely going to need to grab is going to be BKV’s Logan mini (which I forgot about, thanks David).

Its the jazz age for a reason not the washed up family friendly rap age.
It’s the Jazz Age, not the Jay Z age
for that reason previously stated I know I won’t enjoy The Great Gatsby. Aside from the fact that it exudes style over substance.
a pet peeve of mine in films is anachronisms, and for some reason that applies especially in soundtracks. If you’re doing a period piece then please use music from that period.

riverdancingcas replied to your post: Hey, sorry to bug you again, but what are your favorite comics in general youd recommend to a beginner?
Batman, and perhaps Gambit or Storm from the Marvel-verse
I’m not an expert on neither Gambit nor Storm, but I’d recommend the Chris Claremont/Jim Lee X-Men comics of the 90’s. There are also some Gambit Classic paperbacks, and he...

Does X-Force: Sex and Violence count? :| I’d count it since he’s one of the main characters in that story.

I've been wanting to learn more about Deadpool and I'm pretty new to comic books, but now that I'm in a town with 2 comic book stores I figure I can change that. Where would you recommend starting as far as Deadpool is...

Amusingly, the video lectures from my professor who is teaching how to edit videos are very poorly edited.
In the next two weeks I have ten issues of comics to buy, combined. Six next week, four the week after. Damn five wednesday months…
Oh yeah, the other comment I saw about MJB as Johnny was “but then Sue will also have to be black and stuff will have to be rewritten”
And I was like lolnay to both of those things.
All of the comments I’ve seen about Michael B. Jordan playing (possibly) Johnny Storm have just been about his race, but the best one was the person who referenced that Donald Glover comedy special by saying
“What’s next? Is Michael Cera going to play Shaft?!”
Which was promptly responded to with “I would watch that movie every day of my life”
I’m going to wait a little bit and put them on ebay because if they follow the trend that the Avengers glasses did then they’ll likely shoot to really ridiculously high prices.

After thinking over Fractions Invincible Iron Man for a while I’m pretty sure Fear Itself was meant to originally be a crossover between that series and his Mighty Thor. I can’t be too sure though so I asked Matt himself so hopefully he’ll be able to answer that for me.
