So I’ve been on the fence about Matt Fraction’s upcoming runs on both Fantastic Four and FF (although because of Mike Allred on art I’d buy into FF regardless), but then I read his descriptions for the two series.

In Fantastic Four he’s going to take the family on a road trip through time and space where Reed Richards will teach his children (and presumably the rest of the Future Foundation kids) about history first hand (example given was having lunch with Caesar in ancient Rome). This road trip would take a year of their time, but back home only about four minutes would pass from the time of their departure to their time of arrival. In that four minutes is where the new FF comes in. This team, consisting of She-Hulk, Ant-Man, Medusa, and a new character called Miss Thing (who sounds like a very Allred character) will take place of the ‘Four, but things don’t go as planned while the team is gone and a few weeks after their arrival a new, older, half-insane version of Johnny Storm shows up and madness ensues.

All in all, it sounds like Fractions got some big plans for both books, and they both sound like a lot of fun. The best part is that it seems like 1) Allred’s getting some creative word in as far as the writing, story, and characters in FF (mainly Miss Thing), and 2) he’ll probably be able to shove in some of his Casanova madness into these books, which is always a great thing. Despite my reservations before I’ll definitely be checking out both of these titles come October.
