Did some more work on it. It looks neat, but I want to clean it up and make the lines straighter. Still debating the mouth… but yeah, that’s Spider.
Also, I used text because I like typography, but I made it just a nuance, and not so openly visible like I usually do.

Just something I’m making…

Just something I’m making…

I know that if she looks at my poster she’ll say the same thing I did

That it looks like a Social Network poster.

I mean, I like it just fine except for that, but it’s not my fault! Futura is my favorite/signature font!

Also: I told her that I wanted to do a poster where text covered the whole thing and she thought it was a good idea…

Honestly, though, the other fonts get on my nerves/don’t work at all for this poster.

Threshold Masking My Mitts

So the same thing here, except with Marvs mitts.

Here’s the original:

Three threshold layer masks later (and a vertical flip):

The two images go sufficiently together, so now we’ll see about combining them onto one large poster :)

Threshold Masking Gladys

For part of the project I’m taking these images from the Sin City movie and making them look more comic like. I know you could say “Why not use the image from the comic?” Well, I could, but I’m not allowed to use an image without changing it up a bit. Plus, I can do more with the movie images in photoshop due to the grays than I can with the comic image.

Here’s the original again:

And here’s the photoshopped image with three theshold layers at varied opacities:

I’ll fix it up a bit, but it looks pretty nice.

Why do things like this exist
I love living in a world where people think to make things like this.
Also: Does anyone else have an odd love for Bossk?
Something about that foot shot in Empire… hnnnnnggggg

So for my 5000th post I’m going to show you guys one of the pieces I did for my photoshop class today.
It wasn’t hard to assemble at all, just some low opacity masking over the lenses with images of my Captain America shield and my Girlfriend. The real majesty in this one is in the message I’m trying to get across.
Comics, as you all know, are an extremely important part of my life. Not just as a hobby, but as an aspect of what I want to go into as a profession. So I read a lot, I dream a lot, and I think a lot about comics.
The shield was my birthday gift from my girlfriend last year, and I think it perfectly shows that she, though not into comics at all, supports my hobby, and my love for the medium. She knows who I am and she loves me for who I am.
Now I placed her in the background of the image because she always has my back on anything in my life. She’s in the back showing my support, while in the foreground I have my other eye looking through the shield she gave me, kind of showing that my sight is always muddled from my hobby, and I see everything differently that others might.
Also: Notice that the entire image is blurred except for her. She’s the only clear thing in my life, and I think I’ve represented that here. But as my teacher pointed out, it’s interesting because she’s not facing the audience, and it seems like she’s off having a dialogue elsewhere while I’m sitting here looking through Captain America at you.
Anyway, that’s my 5000th post.

Anyway, that’s my 5000th post.

So this was the plan here:
I had cleaned up the blemishes on my forehead, naturally, and then I needed to get the Captain America shield out of the background because I wanted to use it as a reflection in one lense of my glasses.
So I was working on that, and failing rather spectacularly, I might add, and then I realized it was to be impossible because my eyelashes are too amazing and it would be way too hard for me to shop out the shield without damaging them.
So now I have to reshoot… awesome.

Photoshopping with a headache

Definitely not my favorite past-time.

But I have to finish this for tomorrow…

I made this really quickly for Mikal, because she is awesome and has Tank Girl hair. Which makes her a million more times awesome. Which is bringing her to insane awesome levels.

I also made this earlier. I thought it was pretty nifty.
