Currently [RE]Reading - Dark Avengers
It’s actually been a while since I did a currently reading post, but this is the comic I’m working on at the moment. I hadn’t read any of the Dark Avengers series since the issues were originally published, but I recently bought the hardcover collection with all the issues (aside from the Utopia crossover in issues #7-8). I’ve just finished reading through the Molecule Man arc, and I can say once again that it’s still my favorite part of the series. Now I’m moving on to the Annual and then the Siege tie-in.
Right now Marvel’s brought back Normie and he’s got a new crew of Dark Avengers over in the New Avengers ongoing. It’s essentially the exact same thing but not done nearly as well, but I’m sure that with what he’s doing in New Avengers with his new crew of Avengers and all the H.A.M.M.E.R. stuff he’s doing over in Avengers there’s some big endgame coming in the conclusions to both of those arcs next month. Also, Normie’s got super powers now, apparently.

Selling Comics: Dark Avengers Lot

I’m kind of tired of fiddling around with ebay, but I still have a few lots that I’d like to sell anyway.
One of those sets is the Dark Avengers series. Issues #1-6 and 9-16 (7 and 8 were part of the Utopia X crossover, and weren’t handled by the main creative team) and also Annual #1. If you are interested I can also throw in the Siege event since the final four issues of Dark Avengers tie in with that.
Send me a message and we can work out a price. All of them are first prints and are in great condition. They were pretty much all read once, bagged, and then stored.
Dark Avengers tells the story of Norman Osborns group of Avengers who are mostly former villains disguised as heroes. The series consisted of three arcs, one in which the team faces Morgana Le Fay, one against the Molecule Man, and the final which tied into the Siege event. From beginning to end it was a great read and one that I’d highly recommend. Written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Mike Deodato.

It took a while to get here, but my Avengers/X-Men Utopia HC arrived today. I’ve already read the majority of this collection (the main event and the Dark X-Men: The Beginning mini), but I haven’t read the issues since they were originally released. I also got it for less than $15, so that’s always awesome. The new material for me here is in a couple of issues of X-Men: Legacy and material from some one-shots. Now I need to find a cheap copy of the Dark Avengers HC that collects the entirety of that series.

I don’t have the issue to hand but I don’t remember there being a Fury/ Ares fight.
